composite image of a lunar eclipse (known as a "blood moon") as
observed from Wellington, New Zealand on the 5th of April 2015. The
image on the left was taken at 12:01am, the one on the right was taken
at 1:19am. The Moon appears red due to the fact that we are observing
the shadow effect through the atmosphere. |
